Born and raised in New Jersey Emily grew up surrounded by art and design. Before studying fashion design at Parsons School of Design, she was heavily immersed in performing arts through both dance and piano. Her background in dance, along with her father’s architectural career, imprint her design style in subtle ways. Often her work incorporates elements that are geometric and structural, in contrast with more fluid shapes that add movement. While studying at Parsons, she became more aware of the need for sustainable design in the fashion industry, causing her to contemplate how she can adjust her own process of design. She is interested in continuing the exploration of how sustainability can be incorporated in fashion without sacrificing design. Ultimately, she hopes her perspective can speak through her work.
